REAL BRAZILIAN WAX – FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How long should my hair be before waxing?

For best results, hair should be at least ¼ inch long, approximately the length of a grain of rice. Hair that is too short may prevent the wax from gripping properly, which can result in incomplete removal.

Does waxing hurt?

Waxing can cause mild discomfort; however, the sensation is brief and typically well tolerated. Our skilled estheticians use professional techniques to minimize discomfort. With consistent waxing, hair grows back finer, making treatments more comfortable over time.

How often should I get waxed?

Waxing frequency varies based on individual hair growth and personal preference. Most guests find that waxing every 4–6 weeks helps maintain smooth, long-lasting results.

Can I wax if I’m pregnant?

Waxing is generally safe during pregnancy. We recommend consulting your healthcare provider beforehand to address any individual concerns. Please note that hormonal changes may increase skin sensitivity, so communicate openly with your esthetician during your service.

What type of wax does Real Brazilian Wax use?

We use premium hard honey wax for sensitive areas such as Brazilians, underarms, and facial services. Soft wax is used for less sensitive areas like legs, arms, stomach, and back. For extremely sensitive skin, sugaring is recommended.

Can I get waxed while on my period?

Yes, you may still receive waxing services during your period. Please arrive with proper hygiene and use a tampon. Keep in mind that sensitivity is often heightened in the days leading up to and during menstruation, so some guests prefer to wait.

When should I start exfoliating after waxing?

We recommend beginning exfoliation 72 hours after your service, then continuing every other day to help prevent ingrown hairs.

What if I’m taking medications?

Should I trim my hair before my appointment?

If trimming is necessary, please ensure hair remains at least ¼ inch long—about the size of a grain of rice—to allow for effective waxing.

Are there age restrictions for waxing?

Guests 18 years and older may receive waxing services. Guests under 18 must follow our Minor Policy, which can be found on our Policy page.

Can I work out after getting waxed?

Light activity is acceptable; however, we advise avoiding workouts that cause excessive sweating or friction in the waxed area for at least 24 hours.

Waxing is not recommended if you are taking antibiotics or using topical acne medications, including Accutane, Differin, Retin-A, prednisone, or corticosteroids, as these can increase skin sensitivity and risk of lifting.
